Auburndale Fire Chief Ronnie Hall is pleased to announce that Polk County Fire Rescue Lt. Brian Bradway has been hired as the new Auburndale Deputy Fire Chief beginning May 25, 2015.
The position became vacant after Hall became fire chief in March.
“He brings experience to the job and we couldn’t be more pleased,” said Hall. “He has a calm demeanor and very professional in what he does.”
Bradway said Auburndale has a special place in his heart.
“I feel like I’m coming home,” Bradway said.
Prior to Polk County, Bradway,33, worked seven years with the Auburndale Fire Department from 2003-2010.
In 2010, he became a driver engineer and Emergency Medical Technician with Polk County Fire Rescue. Bradway was promoted to lieutenant in 2011 and where he has held that position at the PCFR Loughman, Babson Park and Davenport stations. Auburndale City Manager Bobby Green said the position is designed to provide an opportunity for succession following the retirement of Hall in 2018. Bradway is married and holds a third degree black belt in ishi-do martial arts. He will be paid $56,655 annually.
